About the book
Elijah Garley & the Garley Family
Every family carries a story: where it came from, what it survived, and what it hopes to build next. The Art of Culture is about learning to see that story as something worth protecting, sharing and building on.
The Book
The Art of Culture explores heritage, identity and the roots that shape who we become. It asks a simple question with a big answer: what would happen if we treated our culture as more than something we inherit, and as something we create, carry and pass on?
The book arrives on December 15, 2026.
The Author
Elijah Garley writes about the place where family history meets ambition. He wrote The Art of Culture to show readers, especially young people, that the traditions, values and stories they grew up with can be a foundation for their future rather than something to leave behind.
That belief is also behind the Art of Ambition Awards: $2,000 in Visionary Awards for readers who turn the book's ideas into a plan for something real.
Inspired by the Garley Family
The book draws on the Garley family and its Liberian roots. The red, blue and lone star you see throughout this site come from that heritage, a reminder of where the story begins and of the generations who made the next chapter possible.
Culture is creative. Every tradition began as someone's idea.
Knowing where you come from tells you what you're carrying.
Honoring the past means building something that moves it forward.
